WE MOVED TO…MALAWI

Why and when did you move?
Neither of us can remember exactly when we decided to sell our home in Brighton and buy a six-ton truck to travel round Africa! We set off in September 2005, thinking, 'What on earth have we done?' Our friends and family were baffled, but it was the best decision we ever made. We had an amazing 14 months travelling, and got just over halfway round the continent – to Malawi – when we decided to settle down.

What do you do now?
Last December we bought a campsite and bar in the capital, Lilongwe. It cost a quarter of the price of our Brighton home. Now we run our own business, welcoming backpackers and holidaymakers. We love being our own bosses, and can't get enough of the great weather!
